I'm at a lab at Loyola University in New Orleans. We took a road trip for today and tomorrow here. Schneider's friend, Mo, knows people so that's where we're staying. Last night we drank on Bourbon Street and stayed out til the wee hours. Today we walked around Lafayette Square. I can see the appeal of this town.

I'm leaving for Florida in 4 hours. Check this out -- a Destin, FL cam. That's where I'll be, basking in the sun for a solid week. I'm packing up my stuff and I can't wait to shake up the dust and get out of this town. Perhaps I'll post sometime over the week, but it's doubtful I'll have internet access. Have a good week.

I failed to praise Sondre Lerche, a fine musician, a few weeks back when he opened for Nada Surf. While I'm opposed to the new version of The Buzz in the DI, the reviewer actually did a great job of sizing up his album. Read it here.

I'm looking forward to a weekend of recovery from a cold I've been fighting, which may prove difficult with today being deemed Unofficial St. Patrick's Day by the University of Illinois community.
